Come to the BYU 2015 Law School Expo and meet up with over 130 different law schools from all over the country. Even if you are just thinking about going to law school, be sure to stop by. Remember, students from every major and almost every emphasis at BYU have gone on to law school, so come check it out.
Here are some helpful tips for preparing to attend the law school expo:
The Preprofessional Advisement Center in conjunction with University of Richmond will host a Mock Admissions Panel the night before the Expo. This panel, consisting of Admission representatives from various law schools across the country, will be an eye-opening experience where students can read an application and watch and participate as the Admission representatives discuss whether or not the applicant will be accepted. This will be held in the Little Theater (WSC 3380) from 5:30 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 21st.
Do your homework! Know what law schools are coming, and research those you are interested in talking to. Create a set list of questions you have not yet found answers for.
If you are applying for Fall 2016 Enrollment: While you may focus on your prepared list of schools, this is a great opportunity to pick up information about other schools. Keep an open mind. Plan on coming away with ideas about schools you may apply to that you have not previously considered.
If you are simply considering the law: Come prepared to take home a lot of information. You really should try to pick up as much information as possible and talk with as many law school representatives as possible. You will have plenty of time to review the information at home, and you may find the perfect school for you that you didn't even know existed.
Ask an expert! Our office is happy to help you identify schools you may be interested in speaking with. Stop in! (3328 WSC)
